Expo Icrontic 2010

This is the biggest Icrontic event of the year! It's the reason our community's members save up their vacation time. Bring yer PC or laptop and get your game on.

The Food Tour, Duct Tape Challenge, and Daybreak Golf (bring clubs!) will return, and we have several more fun events planned. Expect plenty of boardgaming and card-flopping as well. There will be tournaments for Team Fortress 2, Shattered Horizon, and Left 4 Dead 2.

Raffle auction:

Tickets will be awarded for participation in sanctioned gaming tournaments and other events. As always, there will be prizes available, each with its own raffle jar. Write your name on your tickets and deposit them by Saturday at 1am for the latenight drawing.

Things to bring:

• Computer
• 20+ ft ethernet cable
• Power strip (if you need more than 1 outlet)

We do NOT have spare ethernet cables, keyboards, mice, or power strips. If you're participating in the Food Tour, please bring cash to ease bill-splitting.

Early Bird / General Admission accomodations:

If you are driving and comfortable doing so, please arrange to tent with other Icrontic members and bring your own sleeping bag, ground pad, and pillow. If you bring a 4-person tent, it should have at least 3 people in it.

If you are getting a hotel room, or you are lucky enough to be a local and are sleeping at your own place, you get a discounted price on your ticket!

Fliers have priority on indoor sleeping arrangements. If you bring an air mattress for indoors please be considerate of space (i.e. if it's a 2-person mattress, 2 people better be using it). If you are able to bring your own pillow and/or sleeping bag, please do.

Everyone should bring their own towels and toiletries.

Info for new attendees:

Weather:

Be prepared for any kind of weather. We recommend both shorts for mid-day and a hooded sweatshirt / jeans for evenings. Michigan weather is crazy.

Minors & under 21:

If you're under 18 and not accompanied by someone over 21, we want to talk to your parent/guardian. It's not a big deal, we just want to make sure everyone's on the same page.

If you're under 21, you are absolutely forbidden from drinking during the Expo. No, we're not "just saying that." It will be strictly enforced, and all the staff will know who is underage.

Beverages:

The Expo is BYOB. We strongly recommend bringing a water bottle or Gatorade in addition to your carbonated beverages of choice. If you are over 21 and choose to drink, please moderate your consumption of alcohol.

Lost & Found:

We DO NOT ship lost & found items so double-check for your phone charger and favorite hat when you're packing. Similarly, don't leave stuff for us to take to the post office. It's your responsibility to deal with it before you go.

Transportation:

If you are flying in, the airport code is DTW. If you want extremely cheap and awesome transportation from DTW --> ICHQ, you can buy a $10 IC Taxi Service ticket. You will be picked up by one of several Icrontic staffers, who will be awesome and make you laugh while you drive.
